GRADE 4C
Combining two bucket list hikes in the Garden Route area (+-95 km). The hike starts at Platbos hut on the Outeniqua trail, hiking for four nights (no slackpack)and arriving at Harkerville hut the fifth day where we replenish food supplies and sleep over to continue on the Harkerville trail for one more night (returning to Harkerville).
Cost +-R1400 for the two trails + additional costs for shuttling/shuttles between the start and end of the trails.
Good level of fitness required due to the duration of the hike. The Harkerville coast section has rocky/chains/ledge areas and exposure to heights.
The huts have the basic facilities (bink beds, cold showers etc).
No smoking.
